Road to Recovery

Hi guys, I hope you enjoyed my last post. I’ve enjoyed telling you about my injury.

The X-ray of the pins in my elbow

Today we are getting into the part of my recovery.

After my surgery, it was time for me to take it easy, and start the long road to my recovery. The recovery was hard, believe me, I had a couple of doctors appointments before I got a cast. When I got my cast, he cut a square in the cast where my pins were, he cut that window so he could clean 🧽 it. The first time I got them cleaned, it stung pretty bad. I went through two casts before I didn’t have to wear a cast. This all happened at Christmas time so we put Christmas 🎄 lights on my sling.

My mom likes to craft up everything. Isn’t my dog cute?

When I got my cast changed, he had to take my stitches out. After I got my pins removed, I started physical therapy every Friday. It was many, many, many doctors appointments, of “no, you can’t go back yet” that broke my heart ♥️. Until that last doctors appointment that he finally said, “yes, you can go back to full time gymnastics 🤸‍♂️ “. When he said that my whole face lit up 😊. I even did a cartwheel in the hall 😊!

It took time to build my strength back up, but I did and was able to compete in the next season.

If you are going through this right now, like little Ella, just know you will get through it! It might take awhile, but you can do it! ❤️ May your comeback be greater than your setback. ❤️

The other day, my mom went to her Youtube channel.  She had forgotten that she had videoed my pin removal and put it on her channel.  We were surprised to see it have over 10k views!  I’m posting it here, but it’s not for the fain of heart.  I personally haven’t even watched it which means I will not be looking at this post once my mom publishes it.  If you’re not squeamish enjoy!
