I can’t believe it’s October! Like most people, I just love fall (it’s my second favorite season – winter wins because of Christmas and my birthday!!). Here in Texas, the seasons don’t change much. It’s still 90 degrees daily. I decorated for fall last week. Even though we still have the AC on, there’s just something cooling about fall decorations. I’m ready for the cooler weather for sure. I even have potato soup in the crock pot for dinner tonight. I may have to turn the AC way down to justify soup when today’s high is 91.
In my decorations, I had these old craft pumpkins. They were white, and I had tried to use a paint pen to write the kids names on them (this is my pre-Cricut days). I pulled out those pumpkins this year, and they just looked sad. They really needed me to Cricut on them. I tried to take off the old paint with nail polish remover, but it didn’t work. I decided I would just replace them. I’ve had them for about 8 years now, so it was time. I went to Michaels to buy 6 more, and even on sale, they were $6 a piece! If you know me well, you’ll know that I love a good sale, and better yet, I love free! It’s my favorite number, just ask my kids.
I left Michaels and went home determined to repurpose my old pumpkins. I found an old can of black spray paint. I took the pumpkins outside and spray painted them black. Now what? ha. I decided to Cricut all the kids names in orange. They turned out more “Halloweeny” than “fallish”, but they will work with my decor. I love them! They are my new favorite decoration.
